Ontario security guard training FAQ

Answers about eligibility, online learning, First Aid, applications, access, quizzes, certificates, provincial steps, support and pricing.

Eligibility and Ontario steps

Who can apply for an Ontario security guard licence?

Ontario says an individual applicant must be at least 18, legally entitled to work in Canada, meet the clean-record rules, hold a valid Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check, complete mandatory training and pass the mandatory test. Training does not itself guarantee that a licence application will be approved.

Does finishing the online course give me a security licence?

No. Training, the provincial test and the licence application are separate steps. The Government of Ontario, not Supreme Academy, decides licence applications.

Online learning and access

Can Ontario security guard basic training be completed online?

Ontario permits web-based basic training, and says web-based courses must allow real-time interaction with an instructor. Supreme Academy’s exact instructor-interaction wording remains hidden until it is documented and approved.

When do I receive course access?

A public application creates a pending request only. An academy manager reviews the application and any required payment before approving an account and assigning course access.

Does the site save video position or active study time?

Yes. The learner dashboard records server-verified active learning time, lesson completion, required-video coverage and quiz history. Hidden, inactive, stale or overlapping sessions do not earn time.

First Aid

Is the First Aid offer online?

No. The Supreme Academy First Aid offer is presented as in-person training. WSIB says there are currently no approved online-only workplace First Aid programs because participants must demonstrate practical skills.

Why do I see both Emergency First Aid and Basic First Aid?

WSIB renamed Emergency First Aid to Basic First Aid on June 22, 2026. The older course record keeps its legacy name until the academy verifies the exact current certificate and provider relationship. Older certificates remain valid until they expire.

Applications, quizzes and completion

What happens after I apply?

The academy reviews the application and any payment or eligibility information. Approval is a protected manager action; the public form cannot create an account or activate enrolment.

What is the quiz passing score?

The current academy default is 70% with up to three attempts for quizzes whose legacy rules have not yet been reconciled. Final course-wide quiz rules still require owner confirmation.

Will I receive a certificate from this website?

An academy course-completion certificate may be issued only after the configured learning requirements and any required academy review are complete. It is not a provincial licence, examination result or Training Completion Number.

Pricing, refunds and support

How much does training cost?

The public site shows a price only when an academy manager has entered and approved the price, currency and tax wording. Until then, apply or contact the academy for a confirmed quote.

What is the refund policy and access period?

Refund terms and access periods are not published until the owner approves the exact wording. Ask for the current terms before making a payment.

How do I get help?
